Stay Storm Safe

Message from the President:

Catholic Mutual Group wants to ensure our members are provided with resources to help guide them through these difficult times, caused by Named Storms Harvey and Irma. We are committed to providing a stable environment for all of our members and our approach to these catastrophic events have been comprehensive in nature. We offer our prayers for all those affected by the storms.

Trained claims professionals were deployed to Galveston-Houston, Victoria and Beaumont to complete inspections and work with independent adjusters and contractors. The majority of inspections have been completed and the teams will be returning to their home offices to handle the claims through their duration. Jeff Kisel, our Claims Risk Manager in Corpus Christi, continues to handle those claims with the support of the Home Office General Adjuster.

Prior to Hurricane Irma making landfall in Florida, Catholic Mutual Group reached out to the Diocese of Palm Beach, Diocese of St. Petersburg and several other separate locations, providing them with resources to assist them in storm pre-planning awareness and recovery. Fortunately for all, Irma did not create the devastation that was expected in Florida. As such, there has not been the need for any CAT Team deployments as of yet, but Catholic Mutual Group remains ready to do so should the need arise.

We also cover the Diocese of St. Thomas and unfortunately our attempts to reach out to them has been unsuccessful. Since Hurricane Irma struck the diocese has been without service and we have been unable to evaluate the damage. Please keep them in prayers.

As a resource, Catholic Mutual has created a Pre-Planning Awareness Checklist and produced a brief, 3-minute Post-Storm Procedures and Water/Mold Mitigation video to assist your parishes and schools with storm recovery. Please feel free to share these resources with your employees, volunteers or anyone else as well.

Any immediate claims can be directed to (800)228-6108.
