Position Overview
As an Assistant Claims/Risk Manager, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our Claims and Risk Management operations. This position involves investigating claims, conducting safety inspections, and promoting risk awareness across insured locations. It’s ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a background in property and casualty insurance, and a passion for service and safety.
Key Responsibilities
• Investigate and evaluate property, liability, and auto claims, verify coverage, and negotiate fair settlements
• Conduct annual safety inspections and promote safety awareness through seminars and educational materials
• Monitor Risk Management policies and assist in keeping them current
• Perform site inspections to ensure proper property coverage and limits
• Maintain communication with diocesan personnel, pastors, and administrators
• Act as liaison between the Arch/Diocese and CMG Home Office

Qualifications

Position Overview
The Risk Management Assistant plays a key role in supporting the administration of our Risk Management Program. This includes coordinating on-site inspections, managing compliance for Self-Inspection programs, and tracking School Safety Surveys. You’ll also assist with customer service for our online training platform and help coordinate CUP and CUP II programs.
This role involves preparing and assembling training materials—both digital and hard copy—including brochures, manuals, posters, and more. You’ll also provide clerical support for meetings by preparing agendas, taking minutes, distributing materials, and arranging travel and meeting logistics. Occasional travel may be required, including to locations outside Nebraska.
Key Responsibilities

• Receive claim assignments, verify coverage, and adjust claims directly or assign to independent adjusters.
• Instruct adjusters on procedures, review reports, and authorize settlements.

• Assess damages related to property, personal injury, and liability claims; collaborate with appraisers and medical professionals.
• Negotiate fair and equitable settlements with claimants and their representatives.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for claimants, providing updates and ensuring transparency.
• Manage subrogation files and ensure proper recovery processes.
• Advise Member Services Representatives and the Risk Management Department on risk and coverage issues.

Position Overview
The Financial Accountant is responsible for a variety of financial accounting functions in accordance with GAAP, including fixed assets, depreciation, member benefit commissions, self-funded health and dental plans, and flexible spending plans. This role also manages unclaimed property compliance, tax filings, and serves as a backup for other Finance Department functions. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently are essential.
Key Responsibilities
• Fixed Assets & Depreciation:
Account for purchases, disposals, transfers, and related depreciation for CMRS and Canada; reconcile schedules to the general ledger; serve as audit contact for fixed assets.
• Cash & Reconciliations:
Perform daily and monthly cash reconciliations between the general ledger and bank accounts for multiple entities (PPIC, CMG Agency, VSC, SFH, FLEX, and CMC).
• Tax Filings:
Manage real estate and property tax filings across several states and GST tax in Canada, including accrual entries.
• Unclaimed Property Compliance:
Perform due diligence and reconcile escheat payable accounts in accordance with state regulations.
• Member Reporting:
Prepare, reconcile, and distribute monthly and quarterly member load reports and reimbursements for approximately 35 Members.
• Self-Funded Health Accounting:
Transfer funds, prepare journal entries, reconcile bank and general ledger accounts, and verify claims and flex transfers.
• Agency Transactions:
Accrue commissions and perform accounting transactions and reconciliations for CMG Agency.
• Backup Duties:
Provide support for other Finance Department functions as needed.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills with strong attention to detail.
