Catholic Mutual Group has an excellent opportunity for a Claims/Risk Manager (CRM) for our service office in Richmond, Virginia. The successful candidate will receive and adjust property/casualty claims by performing investigations/site inspections, evaluating liability, verifying coverages, and negotiating fair and equitable settlements. This person will also provide risk management services such as conducting annual safety inspections, and establishing and monitoring risk management policies. Responsibilities will also include promoting safety awareness through educational seminars and online training, and composing newsletters and other safety literature for distribution. Additional duties include general office administration and customer service. This position requires traveling to parishes and schools located throughout the diocese, which covers 36,000 square miles. While most of the travel occurs during business hours, occasionally, travel will be overnight throughout the year.
The individual in this position must have a good understanding of insurance with at least five years of experience in property and casualty claims adjusting. Prior risk management or safety experience is helpful. A four year college degree and a good understanding of Catholic Church procedures and hierarchy is preferred. The candidate must also possess strong written and oral communication skills and be able to make independent, sound judgments and have the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously. Good customer service skills are necessary. Must have an understanding of basic accounting procedures and have the ability to run an independent office without direct supervision. Must be willing to work irregular hours and be on call for emergencies and must have a valid driver’s license. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook required.

We have an opportunity available for an experienced Benefit Specialist / Account Manager / Strategic Account Manager in our Member Benefit Services department. This individual will be responsible for managing and servicing the employee benefits for Arch/Diocesan accounts, coordinating all areas of coverage, providing prompt, accurate and courteous services to insureds, prospects, clients and insurance companies. The ideal candidate would also complete spreadsheet comparisons, RFPs and presentation booklets for new and renewal accounts, and provide quotes and sales materials on all benefit products and assists in presentations, update/stewardship meetings and workshops.
The position requires a college degree or equivalent work experience and preferably five years’ experience in group self-funded health plans, life, and other ancillary coverages. Online enrollment analysis and implementation experience preferred. A Life and Health Agent’s license is required. Attainment of, or working toward, a professional designation such as CEBS, RHU or CLU is desired. This individual is also expected to keep current on market conditions and changes in the industry including any legislation.

We have an excellent opportunity available for a full-time in-person Service Office Assistant/Claims Processor in our Atlanta Service Office located in Smyrna, GA. The person in this position will provide administrative support to the Assistant Claims/Risk Manager by processing all incoming and outgoing mail, photocopying documents and maintaining an accurate filing and diary system for all claims and safety inspections. Additional duties include preparing certificates of coverage, placing special events coverage, reports, correspondence and other materials in a timely and accurate manner. Answers all incoming calls and relays all changes, requests, and other information to the Assistant Claims/Risk Manager and/or appropriate individual in the Home Office in a timely and accurate manner. Handles and adjusts claims of up to two thousand, five hundred dollars in a timely and professional manner, utilizing claims procedure manual and advising the Assistant Claims/Risk Manager of any potential risk problems.
Requirements of this position include a high school degree; at least two years’ experience in a property and casualty insurance is preferred. Requires proficiency with computer skills including Microsoft Office, attention to detail, excellent phone etiquette, and organizational skills. The ability to maintain confidentiality and work well independently is a must.
